Valentine’s Day may be all about honoring your special someone, but there’s nothing wrong with treating yourself, too! When you feel good about yourself, your whole family benefits. While this may be an easy concept to understand, creating time for yourself takes some deliberate action. That part of the equation can be a little trickier if the week is jam-packed with everyone else’s needs.
I was recently on a website where moms were chatting about how much they would love a break, but their husbands weren’t very understanding. Huh?! Guys, if you want to come up with the perfect Valentine’s gift this year and put a little oomph in your love life, consider this… Moms typically make themselves responsible for, well, pretty much everyone in the household, as well as the errand running, housekeeping and cooking.
If you really want to get her attention, give your partner the gift of rest and relaxation in the form of a spa day, a few hours to herself…or a housekeeper! But don’t make it a once a year gift. Help her carve out time each week to do something just for herself. That means you’ll need to pick up some of the slack. When she gets home, she’ll feel more energized and less stressed. How about that for tapping that loving feeling?

Go for a run, have lunch with a friend and do some retail therapy:)
I love meeting friends for lunch, dinner, coffee or drinks! There is nothing more energizing than uninterrupted girl time!
Getting lost in a kitchen table full of art and journal supplies.
So many favorite ways! I just have to pick one … lay down quietly for 5 minutes; indulge in an episode of my favorite tv show on the laptop; eat some chocolate; have a nice coffee; lay down one page in a photo album.
Go exercise which I have started doing again. Pray. Remember to say thank you for the many blessing I do have, even when I think everything is too much.
I really love a quiet house and curling up with a good book and a cup of tea or take a long, hot bath.
A nice relaxing massage, followed by some quiet time and or a little time to read whatever I want.
Anything I can do alone, without having to answer anyone’s questions or clean up after anyone. Reading and going to the gym alone are my go to activites.
